Brief Summary
|
Dermatoglyphics is a scientific study that deals with
the epidermal ridge patterns and
their configurations on certain body parts such as fingers, palms, and soles. The epidermal
ridges are formed in the same intrauterine period when neuronal development
takes place in the intrauterine life of a fetus. Thus, dermatoglyphics is
correlated with genetic abnormalities and is useful in the diagnosis of
congenital malformations and many other medical disorders.IQ and dermatoglyphics have the same origin, as neural
tissue and epidermis are embryonic ectodermal derivatives, and the
embryological–fetal development takes place in the second trimester of
intrauterine life. Hence, this
study aimed to evaluate and co-relate different fingerprint patterns of 5 to
10-year-old children with their IQ and Frankl’s behavior rating scale. |
