Type  Name  Details
Comparator Agent  Control group  Control group patients injection practices are observed at baseline and at the end of the study without any intervention. Their HbA1c will also be checked at baseline,3rd and 6th month. at the end of the study they will also be educated on standard injection techniques. Control group patients are followed up for the period of 6months
Intervention  Insulin injection technique education using skin pad  Patients will be given injection technique education individually at baseline and followed up for 6months. Patients will be revisited at 3rd month to reinforce injection technique adherence. Their HbA1c will be checked at baseline, 3rd month and 6th month. telephone calls are made every month to ensure adherence. Total duration of intervention - 6 months

Brief Summary   The study is planned to be conducted in 2 health and wellness centres (HWC) namely Mettupalayam (Control group) and Lawspet() Intervention group with diabetic patients on insulin who are enrolled in NCD clinic with sample size of 80 i.e 40 in each group. Injection technique assessment will be done for both the groups at baseline and at 6th month. Intervention group will be provided with standard injection technique education using video, flipbook, posters and HbA1c will be checked for both the groups at baseline, 3rd month and at 6th month and compared to find the effectiveness of education intervention. Among participants from both the groups who have achieved satisfactory and unsatisfactory glycaemic control in depth interview will be conducted to explore the reason for the same.
