Brief Summary   Body image is a person’s impression of their physical self and the ideas as well as feelings associated with those perceptions. It is crucial to realize that these emotions which can be either positive, negative, or a combination of the two, are influenced by both personal and environmental circumstances. College-going students are one of the vulnerable segments who are prone to compare their body structure with that of someone who they admire. the portrayal of the body structure by social media and TV has distorted a person’s perception of their body. The research sought to answer the following questions 1) What is the concern about body image among college-going students? 2) What is the risk for eating disorders and psychological distresses among college-going students? 3) Is there any association among the selected socio-demographic variables, body image, psychological distress, and risk for eating disorders among college-going students? The participants of the study will be college-going students of the selected college i.e. Debraj Roy College, Golaghat, Assam. A quantitative approach will be used with a cross-sectional descriptive research design. The total number of students in the undergraduate course of the selected college is 1365. The rao soft sample size calculator was used to calculate the total sample and it yield a total of 300 sample. The total enumeration method will be used keeping in mind the attrition rate and missing data and final year undergraduate students will be selected purposively and based on convenience. There are a total of 442 students in the final year undergraduate course for the academic year 2022 to 2024. Those participants who will meet the inclusion criteria will be taken for the study. The following tools will be administered: Socio-demographic profile sheet, Body Shape Questionnaire, Eating Attitudes Test, and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale.
