Brief Summary   Amavata is a aama pradoshaja vikara, caused by agnimandya, which leads to accumulation of ama in shleshmasthana and prakopa of vata dosha, resulting in angamarda, aruchi, trushna, alasya, gourav, jwara, apaka and shoonangata which closely resembles the rheumatological disorder called Rheumatoid arthritis. As Swedana and Virechana are two prime procedures mentioned in the chikitsa sutra of Amavata, the present study focuses on evaluating the effect of Kayaseka with Dashamoola kashaya followed by Nitya virechana and Sadyo virechana with Nimbamrutadi eranda taila in Amavata.
