Ibuprofen chronotherapy
|
After periodontal surgery patients will be given ibuprofen 400mg twice daily for 3 days at 8am and 2 pm. Pain perception will be checked 24 hrs, 48 hrs and 72 hrs post surgery using 10 point VAS scale. |

Ibuprofen standard therapy |
After periodontal surgery patients will be given ibuprofen 400 MG thrice daily for 3 days at 8am, 2pm and 8pm. Pain perception will be checked using 10 point VAS scale at 24hrs, 48 hrs and 72 hrs post surgery. |
Intervention |
Melatonin plus ibuprofen chronotherapy |
After periodontal surgery patients will be given ibuprofen 400mg twice daily at 8am and 2 pm for 3 days
And melatonin 10 MG at 8pm for 3 days.
Pain perception will be checked at 24hrs, 48 hrs and 72 hrs after surgery using 10 POINT VAS scale. |

Details |
Systemically healthy patient having generalized periodontitis needing periodontal flap surgery.
Patients willing to undergo flap surgery
Patients willing to participate in the study. |

ExclusionCriteria |
Details |
Patients with known systemic disorders and under medication for the same.
Patients allergic to melatonin and/or ibuprofen
Patients with a history of anti-inflammatory and/or antibiotic therapy over the last six months
Patients with a history of periodontal therapy over the last six months
Pregnant and lactating mothers |
