Brief Summary
|
Background: Pain and decreased range of motion are the main problems faced by individuals suffering from knee osteoarthritis. The beneficial effect of many pain reducing electrical modalities combined with manual therapy has been confirmed several times in order to achieve best therapeutic results. There have been studies about 20 min session of floss band intervention showing an acute effect of floss band but there have been not much findings about effect of using floss band in such musculoskeletal condition of knee osteoarthritis and there are not much studies about the long term effect of using a floss band technique in these individuals. Therefore, this study will aim to know the efficacy and long-term effect of using floss band technique in cases of knee osteoarthritis.
Aim: To determine the effect of using a floss band with exercises for treatment of patients knee osteoarthritis on pain, flexibility, muscle strength and quality of life. Objectives: · To determine the efficacy of floss band technique on pain in knee osteoarthritis. · To determine the efficacy of floss band technique on flexibility in knee osteoarthritis. · To determine the efficacy of floss band technique on muscle strength. · To determine the efficacy of floss band technique on quality of life in knee osteoarthritis · To compare the effect of two different treatment interventions (Floss band with exercises and conventional physiotherapy treatment) in patient having knee osteoarthritis.
There will 40 patients included in the study and those will be further divided into 2 groups . Group A-20 further divided into A1 that will have 10 patients with normal BMI and will receive conventional physiotherapy treatment for knee OA and A2 will have 10 patients with overweight BMI and will receive conventional physiotherapy treatment for knee OA. Group B- 20 further divided into B1 that will have 10 patients with normal BMI and will receive conservative physiotherapy treatment with floss band exercises for knee OA and B2 will have 10 patients with overweight BMI each will receive conservative physiotherapy treatment with floss band exercises for knee OA. |
