Brief Summary
|
INTRODUCTION: Communication is an important paradigm in the primary care setting that influences collaboration among the healthcare provider and the patient experience. Communication is an art and a science, in which art involves establishing a good human connection with the patient or care team. In contrast, the science involves the tool and technology that facilitates connections. Communication begins at the initial moment of patient care and lasts till the duration of care cycle. For nurses, good communication means approaching every patient interaction with the intention to understand the concern of patient ,along with active listening and patient teach-back techniques Need: Health care workers today acknowledge that poor communication is perhaps one of the most prevalent problem in healthcare working environment. Miscommunication among medical staff while transferring patients contributed to 80 percent of serious medical errors Objective: To assess the current practices regarding Nurse’s communication with the patient’s undergoing hemodialysis in PGIMER, Chandigarh. 2. To develop and implement/introduce (AIDET) mode of communication to nurse’s in Hemodialysis unit. 3. To evaluate the effectiveness of AIDET mode of communication on patient’s satisfaction from nursing care undergoing hemodialysis. 4. To evaluate the effectiveness of AIDET mode of communication on nurse’s values of caring a patient undergoing hemodialysis.
