Brief Summary  

 Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are one of the most common causes of occupational injuries and disabilities among health care workers. Analysis of the working postures is important to find out the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and to investigate the relationship between musculoskeletal disorders with individual factors, work characteristics and the working postures5. Understanding the risk and prevalence among technician is an important first step to inform current methods and intervention strategies to limit development of musculoskeletal problems in laboratory technicians3.

Ergonomic interventions are proven to be effective in various populations like dentists, computer workers, the studies revealed high prevalence of MSDs among the pathologists. Therefore, performing ergonomic corrective actions is essential in order to improve their physical conditions at work3.

This study aims to study the effectiveness of ergonomic intervention program on musculoskeletal disorder in medical laboratory technician and to Analyze the working pattern, work posture and the workstation design of the medical laboratory also to Identify ergonomic risk factors, characteristics and the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders among the medical laboratory technicians.

 The duration of intervention will be 4 weeks. Control group will receive only ergonomic advices whereas experimental group will receive ergonomic intervention in form of exercise programme and ergonomic advice for total duration 4 weeks.
