Brief Summary
|
• Objectives: 1)To find out the effect of eccentric training of lower limb muscle with posterior oblique subsystem training on CoD , countermovement jump (CMJ), eccentric strength of the hamstring’s muscles. 2)To find out the comparative difference between posterior oblique subsystem training with eccentric training and eccentric training on CoD, CMJ and eccentric strength of the hamstring’s muscles
Study Setting: Sports Authority of India, NCOE, Aurangabad Study design: Randomized controlled Trail
Participants: Both male & female fencers with 3 years of experience (13-22yrs)
Procedure : • Participants will be screened based on inclusion & exclusion criteria after ethical committee approval. • An informed consent will be taken and explained about the procedure to all participants who will be participating in the study. • At the baseline, all the participants will undergo testing session. • In which, anthropometric measurements – age, height, weight, BMI will be documented, • Flexibility by modified sit and reach test, • Lower limb strength will be check by dynamometer, • Countermovement jump height will measure by the my Jump App 2, • Change of direction will be tested by specific fencing change of direction test, • Eccentric strength of hamstring’s muscle will be assessed by Nordic hamstring test. • After baseline assessment, participants will be randomly divided into two groups- Experimental Group & Controlled Group. Each group consists of 31 participants. • Both group will perform 6 week training, 3 days a week. • Experimental group will perform eccentric training with posterior oblique subsystem • Controlled group will perform eccentric training . • At the end of the 6 weeks of training, two groups will be tested in a same way such as the baseline assessment and the post intervention data will be noted.
Outcome measures: Change of direction, Countermovement Jump and Eccentric Strength of hamstrings.
Results: On going study
Conclusion: There will be significant difference on lower limb muscle performance between fencers who will receive eccentric training of lower limb muscles with posterior oblique subsystem and fencers who will receive eccentric training alone
