Details |
| Intervention |
No Alveolar Recruitment In Control Group |
Control Group will not receive regular recruitment i.e. every hourly intraopratively. Lung scan will be done to evaluate to assess the degree of atelectasis at three occasions (Baseline supine, Baseline Prone, Preextubation) |
| Comparator Agent |
Regular alveolar recruitment |
Regular alveolar recruitment will be done every hourly and lung scan will be done to evaluate its impact on atelectasis. Lung scan will be done at three occasions (Baseline supine, Baseline Prone, Preextubation |

| Details |
The study will be carried out on consenting ASA physical status I & II patients of either sex scheduled to undergo elective noncardiac surgery in the prone position under general anaesthesia (>2 h) requiring tracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation. |
|
| ExclusionCriteria |
| Details |
After routine preoperative evaluation and investigation, the following patients will be excluded from the study; Patients with previous thoracic surgery, pulmonary disease, airway anomaly, airway infection, and abnormal preoperative chest X-ray findings, such as atelectasis, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, or pneumonia. |

Brief Summary
|
We propose to evaluate and compare the effect of regular recruitment vs single alveolar recruitment, in preventing atelectasis in adult patients after general anaesthesia in prone position using lung ultrasound |
