Brief Summary

The nursing job is stressful due to various factors like high work demand, poor working condition, nature of work etc. The health system is primarily depends on the nurses working in periphery area. Besides the routine nursing care services at their health centers, the nurses working in the periphery had to go for home visit, look after the social issues, additional work assigned by the authority as per the need arises. To carry on these responsibilities effectively, it is essential to have satisfaction from the work done. A stressful job might lead to dissatisfaction causing multiple issues in professional, personal or social life. Job satisfaction influence the work productivity and the nurses. A descriptive research design with quantitative research approach will be used for the study. The nurses working in periphery i.e. subcenters of Sonitpur district are the population and nurses working in under the selected PHC will be the sample for the study. The study will be conducted at the purposively selected block PHCs of Sonitpur district, Assam. The nurses working under the PHCs will be included in the study through total enumeration technique.  Socio-demographic proforma, occupational stress index scale to measure the occupational stress and Minnesota satisfaction questionnaire to measure the nurses’ job satisfaction will be used to collect data. The collected data will be analysed with descriptive (measures of central tendency and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Chi-square).
