Primary Outcome
|
| Outcome |
TimePoints |
| To study the initial treatment strategy employed for hospitalized patients with STEMI in India during the current COVID-19 pandemic and to document the differences in the primary outcome of death, re-infarction and stroke in-hospital and at 30 days post discharge based on the initial treatment strategy. |
5 months or when target of 3000 patients are recruited which ever happens first |
|
|
Secondary Outcome
|
| Outcome |
TimePoints |
To evaluate the major in-hospital complications of STEMI patients in relation to the initial reperfusion strategy employed.
To study the differences in left ventricular function(LVEF) assessed by echocardiography during hospital admission and at 30 days post discharge among STEMI patients treated with various reperfusion strategies.
To study the time delay in the presentation of STEMI and the various reperfusion strategies employed.

Brief Summary
|
This prospective study will help
to identify the initial treatment strategies employed during COVID-19 pandemic
in India. The study will also evaluate the patient outcomes with lysis followed
by a delayed PCI strategy often widely employed in India. The
demographics, presentation patterns, major complications and in-hospital
outcomes would be analysed. Multivariate analysis on factors leading to outcomes
will be carried out. Finally, the use of guidelines based medications in the country
in STEMI management would also be assessed. This is the first and
largest prospective study on STEMI on presentation and management of STEMI in
India during COVID times and will provide insights into the STEMI management in
the country and the outcomes. |
