Primary Outcome
|
Outcome |
TimePoints |
1. To calculate the mean percentage rise in perfusion index from the baseline in successful blocks.
2. To determine the cut off values for Perfusion Index (PI) and PI ratio that predicts block success. |
30 minutes. |
|
Secondary Outcome
|
Outcome |
TimePoints |
1. To compare PI between blocked and nonblocked limbs.
2. To assess and compare hemodynamic parameters: Heart Rate, SPO2, Systolic Blood Pressure, Diastolic Blood Pressure in successful vs unsuccessful group. |
30 minutes. |

Brief Summary
|
This study is designed to investigate whether perfusion index (PI), a measure of peripheral perfusion from a pulse oximetry finger sensor, is a reliable and objective method for assessing the adequacy of supraclavicular blockade and to describe the time course of PI changes once peripheral nerve block has been achieved during surgery. |
