Brief Summary
|
Popularity of the online gaming are on the
rise. Gaming can have both positive and negative impact on players. Previous
research from western industrialized countries has hypothesized relationship
problems as cause and effect of problematic online gaming. One of the proposed mechanisms
for relationship problems is emotional dysregulation. Existing research
highlights the importance to examine the link between problematic online gaming
and relationship problems in other cultures and in a more diverse sample.
Another lacuna in the existing research is about the relevance of content of
video games in emotional regulation and relationship aggression. This leads to
two research questions: Does video gaming affect the emotional regulation of an
individual? Does video gaming have any role in conflicts in romantic
relationship? Objective
of the study :
- To
understand the relationship between video gaming, emotion dysregulation and
psychological aggression in individuals in romantic relationship
- To
find the relationship between the content of video games and emotion dysregulation
& psychological aggression
