Brief Summary
Modification(s)
|
This randomized prospective study will be carried out on 90 adult
patients of ASA physical status I and II, scheduled for elective surgeries
under spinal anaesthesia. After the approval by the institutional Ethical
Committee, written informed consent will be obtained from all the patients
before being included in the study. They will be randomly allocated to
following groups of 30 each:
• Group R: Patients will receive Ringer’s Lactate solution as
coloading fluid.
• Group G: Patients
will receive 4% Balanced Succinylated Gelatin solution as coloading fluid.
• Group H: Patients
will receive 6% Hydroxyethyl Starch solution as coloading fluid.
Patients in group-R
will receive Ringer’s lactate, patients in group-G will receive 4%
Balanced Succinylated Gelatin solution and group-H will receive 6%
Hydroxyethyl Starch solution. All these solutions will be infused over a
period of 20 minutes along with performance of subarachnoid block. After
coloading, all patients will receive Ringer’s Lactate solution for fluid
maintenance. Baseline parameters and post spinal parameters will be recorded
using an electronic patient monitoring device, and entered into each patients
proforma sheet. Following spinal anaesthesia mean arterial pressure will be
recorded at following intervals -1,3,5,10,15,30,45,60,90 minutes and 3 hours
after spinal anaesthesia.
The study will end at
the end of 1 month after all data has been obtained. |
