Brief Summary
|
Cyberbullying has been increasing with the increase in technology use among young adults. The present study aims to find a relationship between these variables namely, cyberbullying, humor and anger. It is important to spread awareness of cyberbullying and maladaptive humor as many parents may not realize the dangers associated with technology use. The aim of the study is to study the influence of humor style and anger on cyberbullying. The objective is to examine the role of humor styles on cyberbullying among young adults and to examine the role of anger on cyberbullying among young adults. The secondary objective is to examine the difference in the influence between males and females on cyberbullying and humor styles among young adults. The hypothesis is that there is no significant relationship between cyberbullying, anger and humor styles. The procedure is to collect online questionnaires which will be uploaded on Google docs. The google docs’ link will be sent to the friends of the primary investigators and secondary investigators (via Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram) who will be asked to forward it to the other participants with similar characteristics. Participants will go through two phases. Phase 1 will consist of sending only the cyberbullying from which participants will obtain a score. Participants obtaining a score of more than 10 will be a part of the second phase of the study. Personal information such as email address will be taken at the beginning of the study. Further process for phase two will be sent via their email address. After the completion of the study, the email address provided by them will be deleted permanently from the system. Phase 2 will consist of two forms namely, Humor Style Questionnaire and the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory-2. Those participants who are fulfilling the inclusion criteria will be asked to fill out the forms. A small brief will attached at the end of the questionnaires to educate the participants about the study. Along with this the primary investigator’s e-mail id will be available for any further questions regarding the study. The online form will contain three tools, namely Revised Cyberbullying Inventory-II, Humor Style Questionnaire and the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory-2. |
