SUMMARY

The present study entitled “Effectiveness of a Structured Education Program on Menstrual Hygiene, Knowledge, Attitude and Practice among High School Girls of Urban and Rural areas of Belagavi”

1. Introduction

It includes brief views of concepts of Rajaswalaparicharya, menstrual hygiene, menstrual disorders and the need for the study

2.  Review of literature

The literary review includes Historical review, Anatomy of external genital organs, conceptual review of Rajaswalaparicharya, menstruation, menstrual cycle, menstrual hygiene, and menstrual hygiene management

Historical review- Explains about Artava and its various historical aspects of and references of Rajaswalaparicharya and menstrual hygiene evolution.

Anatomy of external genital organs- Explanation about both Ayurvedic and modern view of external genital organs.

Conceptual review- the conceptual review includes brief explanations about menstrual hygiene.

Review of Rajaswalaparicharya- it contains explanation about Rajaswalaparicharya mentioned in classics.

Menstruation- deals with explanation about menstruation and physiology of menstrual cycle. 

Menstrual hygiene- various aspects of menstrual hygiene, menstrual hygiene    management and menstrual hygiene day were explained.

3. Methodology- The third part comprises of methodology of the present study which was carried out on 600 subjects of adolescent age group. This covers of materials and method, study design, inclusion criteria, exclusion criteria and consort chart.

4. Observation and results – observation deals with the tabular representation, which are documented both in number and percentages. The study results were accessed with appropriate statistical methods and represented with graphs and chart.

5. Discussion

This part deals with discussion on literary part, observation and results.

6. Conclusion

Conclusion deals with the conclusions drawn on observations made in the study and the results.
