Health Condition / Problems Studied
Health Type  Condition
Patients  localised gingival recession (class I & classII),

Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Intervention  Amniotic membrane  Amniotic membrane is a soft tissue allograft composed of multiple layers of dehydrated human amnion tissue processed via Purionâ„¢, a proprietary tissue processing technology that preserves the inherent structure of amnion while cleansing and fusing its layers together.)Membrane was trimmed and placed to cover the bony recession defect extending from the CEJ to cover the adjacent bone mesially, distally, and apically by 2 to 3 millimeters.
Comparator Agent  Platelet Rich fibrin membrane  Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is an autologous concentration of platelets in plasma. It is a second generation platelet concentrate widely used to accelerate soft and hard tissue healing.Membrane was trimmed and placed to cover the bony recession defect extending from the CEJ to cover the adjacent bone mesially, distally, and apically by 2 to 3 millimeters.

Brief Summary

This study was conducted and compiled by Dr.Mohd. Rehan, Dr.Manish Khatri, Dr.Mansi Bansal, Dr.Ashish Kumar and Dr.Komal Puri,  at Department Of Periodontology, Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies, Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh, India

The study is a randomized control trial for comparison of the effect of commercially available amnion membrane and autologous platelet rich fibrin on the isolated human buccal recession defects.  Assessment and comparison of various parameters was done.
