Core strength testing using Mcgills Core battery |
Three primary tests that evaluate the muscular endurance of various core muscle groups make up the McGill core testing battery:
Test of Trunk Flexor Endurance (TFET)
Test of Trunk Lateral Endurance (TLT)
TEET, or the Trunk Extensor Endurance Test
The goal of each test is to maintain an isometric posture for as long as feasible before becoming fatigued. Each testing position will be tested 3 times with a rest period of 30 seconds in between.

Reactive Agility testing using Blazepods Device. |
For thirty seconds, players must balance solely on one foot while standing barefoot in the middle of the square. The primary objective of the exercise is to tap as quickly as you can with the elevated foot while keeping your balance in a one-leg stance on the highlighted pod, which is indicated by a light that is lit in a rhythmic and random order. During each trial, participants were not allowed to touch the floor more than once with the elevated foot. The test was stopped, and the findings were not included in the analysis for participants who touched the floor with the raised leg more than once. Each player will be tested three times with a rest period of 30 seconds between. and the average of the three will be taken as the final score. total duration of each test is 3 minutes per player. |

Reactive Agility testing using Coimbre Reactive Agility test. |
Participants navigate arbitrary paths with maximum speed while dribbling and managing markers of four distinct colours.
The various zones are denoted by coloured cones, with a white cone in the centre of the CRAST area signifying the tests beginning and end. Four distinct colours were used to identify the four excursions in the test.
The soccer players had to finish two different courses—five and seven meters—six times as fast as they could (an observer identified the randomly preselected colours). Using a handheld stopwatch, the first examiner began timed the test after participants started with a ball at the white cone (centre). Just before the player finishes the current course, the following instruction is called after the second examiner called out the colour list.
Scoring: The sum of the test completion time and any penalty time is used to determine the performance score.
The test will be done three times, with a rest period of 30 seconds in between. |

Brief Summary
|
Football is a physically demanding sport that requires strength, speed, agility, and balance. Reactive agility, which involves quick directional changes in response to unpredictable stimuli, is a key performance factor in football. Core strength plays an important role in maintaining stability during such multi directional movements. Despite individual studies on each of these qualities, the direct relationship between core strength, reactive agility, and reactive balance in professional football players remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate the correlation between these parameters in professional football players using the Coimbra Reactive Agility Test, BlazePod reactive balance assessment, and McGill Core Endurance Tests. Findings may help optimize training programs to improve performance and reduce injury risk in footballers. |
