Brief Summary   Basketball is a very popular sport that shows variety in shooting patterns among amateur players than expert players. This leads to overuse that ultimately leads to tightness in fascia and injuries like sprains and strains. Active myokinetic chain release therapy is a primarily used technique to remove fibrosis and increase blood flow that prevents injuries. Stretching exercises also alleviate the pain and have been found to be useful in decreasing joint stiffness and increasing the range of motion. The aim of the present study was to determine the acute effects of active myokinetic chain release therapy and self-stretching on performance measures of amateur basketball players. The study, following ethical approval and briefing and obtaining written consent from the participants, will screen the participants using Bunkie test. Eligible participants, who fulfil the inclusion and exclusion criteria, will be divided into two groups. Group 1 will receive active myokinetic chain release therapy and Group 2 will perform self-stretching. Both the interventions will be performed for a single session and performance variables will be recorded at baseline and post-intervention- (1) immediately, (2) post-24 hours, (3) post-48 hours. It is expected that both the above interventions will be able to improve the performance measures of basketball players, but active myokinetic chain release therapy will give better results. Active myokinetic chain release therapy will give positive acute effects which will be sustained for 24-48 hours that can help the athletes in an upcoming competition. It can be used as a treatment adjunct with various other interventions for conditioning of the athletes and if incorporated just before an event, can help the athletes to perform better.
