Brief Summary
|
This prospective, observational, cross-sectional survey aims to assess the knowledge, awareness, attitudes, self-reported practices, and perceived barriers related to environmental sustainability and “Green Anesthesia” among operating room (OR) staff. The study will be conducted using a secure, custom-developed web-based application accessible via smartphone, tablet, or computer. Eligible participants include anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, operating room technicians, and allied OR personnel involved in operative care. After providing digital informed consent, participants will complete a structured 24-item questionnaire covering demographics, sustainability awareness, knowledge of environmentally impactful anesthetic practices, routine micro-habits, perceived barriers, and suggestions for improvement. The survey is anonymous, and no personally identifiable information will be collected. The primary objective is to quantify knowledge gaps, current sustainable practices, and barriers to implementation across different professional groups. Secondary objectives include identifying role-specific educational needs, exploring associations between professional characteristics and sustainability practices, and generating institution-specific data to inform policy development and targeted interventions. Data will be analyzed using descriptive and comparative statistical methods. Findings are expected to provide baseline evidence to guide institutional sustainability initiatives, educational programs, and quality improvement strategies aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of perioperative care while maintaining patient safety. |
