Role of individualised homoeopathic medicine in the management of osteorthritis knee |
Randomization: Patients satisfying inclusion and exclusion criteria will be randomized in an allocation ratio of 1:1 into two equal arms. Randomization list for 60 patients will be prepared
through an online website. The sample size of 60 patients will be divided into two groups: Group A (Individualized homoeopathic medicine) and Group B (Placebo).A well selected homoeopathic remedy on the basis of case taking, analysis, evaluation ,totality and
repertorisation will be carried out as per the homoeopathic principles, will be given to (GROUP
A) . They will be prescribed indicated medicine in centesimal potency (4 pills of size 30) , there will be no bias in Groups and medicine will be given as per randomisation. Cases were followed up properly on regular basis in every 15 days or as per need of the patient, and results were assessed on the basis of clinical symptoms, changes in WOMAC score. Outcome will be measured by the primary measure which will be WOMAC score. |
| Comparator Agent |
Role of placebo in the management of osteorthritis knee. |
In a samle size of 60 patients after randomisation Group B will be provided placebo. Group A will be provided individualsed homoeopathic remedy |

Brief Summary
|
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition of the cartilage and also known as degenerative joint disease. It is the most common type of arthritis and a leading cause of pain and impairment in older adults. Osteoarthritis is the most common cause of disability in patient population older than 65years. Homoeopathy provides an effective treatment for osteoarthritis knee, through it’s safe and gentle approach by addressing the underlying root cause. This study focuses on internal administration of homoeopathic medicine —comparing individualized homeopathic prescriptions based on totality of symptoms with Placebo . This study anticipates improvements in pain severity and quality of life among patients receiving homoeopathic medicines as reflected by improved scores on the WOMAC criteria. |
