Comparator Agent  Flatfoot corrective exercises  Flatfoot corrective exercise group will perform exercises focused on enhancing flexibility, muscle strengthening, proprioception, and balance.Flat Foot corrective exercise protocol will be administered for a period of 8 weeks with 2 sessions per for a duration of 40mins. The session starts with 5 mins of warm up in the form of gentle stretching of lower limb muscles. 
Intervention  Plyometric exercise  Plyometric exercise group will perform exercises aimed at improving balance, coordination, jumping ability, endurance, speed, reaction time, muscular strength, power, and vertical jump height.Participants in the flatfoot corrective exercise group will perform exercises focused on enhancing flexibility, muscle strengthening, proprioception, and balance. Plyometric exercises protocol will be administered for a period of 10 weeks with two sessions per week for duration of 40 min. The session starts with 5 minutes warming up and ends with 5 minutes cooling down in the form of gentle stretching of lower limb muscles. These exercise included low-intensity exercises (lateral jump), moderate exercises (squat jump), and high-intensity jumps (increasing height).

Brief Summary  

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of plyometric exercises and flatfoot corrective exercises on balance and foot posture in obese children with flexible flatfoot. Childhood obesity is associated with altered biomechanics, impaired balance, and a higher prevalence of flexible flatfoot, which can negatively affect functional performance and quality of life.

This is a non-randomized, parallel, comparative interventional study conducted among obese children aged 7–11 years with flexible flatfoot, recruited from selected schools in Bengaluru. A total sample size of 120 participants will be included and allocated into two parallel groups using a non-randomized method, with 60 participants in each group. Group A will receive a structured plyometric exercise program, and Group B will receive flatfoot corrective exercises.

Outcome measures will include balance assessment using the BTrack balance system and foot posture assessment using the Foot Posture Index-6. Assessments will be conducted at baseline and post-intervention. The study aims to determine and compare the effectiveness of both exercise protocols in improving balance and foot posture in obese children with flexible flatfoot.
