Brief Summary

PCOS is a common endocrine disorder associated with reproductive, hormonal and metabolic abnormalities. Vitamin-D deficiency is common in these patients and along with calcium imbalance, may worsen metabolic and reproductive dysfunction. Insulin resistance is also a common factor in the etiology of PCOS. Conventional therapy for PCOS includes metformin or myoinositol. Myoinositol improves Insulin sensitivity and hormonal balance in PCOS. Therefore, adding calcium & vitamin-D to myoinositol therapy may provide additional benefits in improving cardiometabolic and hormonal profiles in PCOS.
