Brief Summary

This randomized experimental study compares the effects of 4-week unilateral versus bilateral contrast training programs on athletic performance in recreational young adult male football players aged 18-26 from Delhi-NCR (n=38, randomized into two groups of 19 each). Unilateral training involves single-limb exercises (e.g., rear-foot elevated split squat paired with single-leg bound), while bilateral uses dual-limb pairs (e.g., back squat with countermovement jump), both at 75-85% 1RM, 2 sessions/week, 35 min/session post-warm-up. Primary outcomes include dynamic strength (1RM squat/Bulgarian split squat), explosive power (vertical jump, single-leg hop, broad jump), balance (Y-Balance Test), and agility (Illinois Agility Test), assessed pre- and post-intervention with paired/unpaired t-tests.
