1. Ready to give written consent by legally acceptable relative.
2. Diagnosis of moderate to severe ARDS (Global Definition of ARDS 2024).
3. Patient requiring oxygen therapy (NIV, Venturi mask, mechanical invasive ventilation). |

Brief Summary
|
This study is designed to evaluate the effects of oxygenation in terms of PaO2/FiO2 ratio by inhaled Amikacin in critically ill ARDS patients. The inhaled root is a common means of administering bronchodilators and corticosteroids in patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma, administration of inhaled antibiotics remains confidential. In an ICU, patients are specifically are at risk of nosocomial infections, and upto 40 % of critically ill patients develop ventilator associated pneumonia ( VAP ), which induces a prolonged ICU stay and potentially increases mortality. Inhaled antibiotic therapy enables delivery of very high antibiotic concentrations to the tracheobronchial tree, lung parenchyma, and tracheal tube biofilm. The efficacy of Inhaled antibiotics showed lower systemic toxicity, reduced emergence of bacterial resistance and enhanced activity against resistant bacteria. Amikacin exhibits a concentration dependent effects justifying the use of high doses to enhance the efficacy, however limited by its ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. |
