Brief Summary
|
This observational clinical study aims to assess changes in serum electrolyte levels before and after Vamana Karma therapeutic emesis.Vamana Karma is a major Shodhana therapy in Ayurveda mainly indicated for the elimination of aggravated Kapha Dosha. Although classical Ayurvedic texts describe Vamana as a safe procedure when performed properly there is a common concern among practitioners regarding possible fluid and electrolyte imbalance due to induced vomiting To address this concern the present study will evaluate serum sodium potassium and chloride levels in a minimum of fifty indoor patients undergoing Vamana Karma Electrolyte levels will be measured two hours before the procedure and at two hours and four hours after completion of Vamana Karma Clinical assessment will be carried out to evaluate Shuddhi Samyaka Ayoga and Atiyoga based on classical Vaigiki Laingiki and Antiki parameters Statistical analysis will be performed using paired t test. The study hypothesizes that properly conducted Vamana Karma does not cause significant electrolyte imbalance and thus supports the safety of the procedure and encourages its wider clinical application. |
