Brief Summary   The current Review focus on Triphala churna and it’s potential to
antimicrobial properties to minimize microbial burden in wound. Tropical
application of Triphala churna helps in healing of wound. In general E.coli
S.aureus, P.aursegunosa are common isolated Micro -organism in infected
wound most of drugs are highly susceptible against above mentioned bacteria.
Hence this review helps to understand the antimicrobial and
healing properties of drugs that should be taken as antiseptic solution for use
in ayurveda in the management of Agantuj vrana. This drug also has the
vranaropak and vranashodhak properties.
In modern era Betadine Powder prepared by Framycetin are
used. It has some adverse effect like allergy, absorption of drug in less
quantity, if large areas of the body are being treated then possibility of toxicity
may occur. To minimize this adverse effect, this is a humble effort to prepare
Triphala churna which might be useful in upcoming era and may be free from
all these side effect and having good efficacy.
Vrana literally means discontinuation of tissue or a condition which even after
complete healing leaves a scar over the area which stays as long as the person
is alive.
Classification of Vrana:
Aacharya Sushrut classified classes Vranas into according to their origin and
etiology
A) Nijvrana
B) Aagantuj vrana
Vrana and its management has been dotted since period of Veda to
Current era. It has been a major problem Since early stage of medical science
non-healing wound present serious problem for patient family, and clinician.
Most of wound associated with a small number of under lying disorders such
as DM, Leprosy and peripheral disease. Wound are Common place from
childhood to old age and some time it required surgical intervention.
