Brief Summary
|
This research study investigates the comparative efficacy of Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Positional Release Technique (PRT) combined with Core Stabilization Exercises (CSE) in managing non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) and iliopsoas tightness among college students. NSLBP is a significant cause of disability in this population, often exacerbated by sedentary lifestyles and prolonged sitting, which lead to shortened hip flexors and musculoskeletal imbalances. The primary objective is to evaluate which manual therapy intervention, when integrated with core stabilization, more effectively reduces pain intensity, enhances hip extension range of motion, and improves functional quality of life. The study utilizes a randomized experimental design involving 78 participants aged 18 to 25 years from Khalsa College, Amritsar. Participants are divided into two groups: Group A receives MET with CSE, while Group B undergoes PRT with CSE. Interventions are conducted over a three-week period on alternate days. Outcomes are assessed using standardized tools, including the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) for pain, the Modified Thomas Test for iliopsoas flexibility, and the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ) for functional status. |
