Details  Young adults between 18 and 25 years of age.
Both male and female participants.
Individuals showing clinical features of upper cross syndrome (such as forward head, rounded shoulders, or thoracic kyphosis).
Participants capable of understanding and willing to provide informed consent.
 
 
ExclusionCriteria 
Details  History of traumatic injury or surgery affecting the spine, shoulder, or thorax.
Diagnosed musculoskeletal, neurological, or respiratory, disorders (such as scoliosis, ankylosing spondylitis, asthma, etc.)
Ongoing acute pain or recent injuries that could affect postural assessment or movement.
Current participation in a rehabilitation program targeting posture or respiratory mechanics.

Upper Cross Syndrome (UCS) is a postural disorder characterized by muscle imbalance in the cervical and shoulder region, leading to forward head posture and rounded shoulders. These postural changes may also affect scapular alignment and thoracic mobility, which can contribute to scapular asymmetry and reduced chest expansion. The rising utilization of electronic devices and extended sedentary posture among young adults has augmented the incidence of these postural deviations.
The objective of this study is to ascertain the relationship between upper cross syndrome, scapular asymmetry, and chest expansion in young adults. The study will include 100 participants aged 18–25 years. Kinovea software will be used to measure the craniovertebral angle and the rounded shoulder angle. The Lateral Scapular Slide Test (LSST) will be used to measure scapular asymmetry, and the tape measure method will be used to measure chest expansion at the axillary, xiphoid, and subcostal levels. The findings of this study may help in understanding the relationship between postural alterations associated with UCS and changes in scapular position and chest expansion, which can assist in the early identification and physiotherapy management of postural dysfunctions.
