Brief Summary  

Gastrocnemius myofascial trigger points are a common cause of calf pain muscle tightness and functional limitation affecting activities such as walking running and prolonged standing Various physiotherapy interventions are used for the management of trigger points among which dry needling and cupping therapy are commonly applied techniques for pain relief and improvement of muscle function However limited studies have directly compared the effectiveness of these two interventions specifically for gastrocnemius trigger points

The present study aims to compare the effectiveness of dry needling therapy and cupping therapy in individuals with gastrocnemius trigger points A total of 98 participants aged 18–40 years with clinically diagnosed gastrocnemius trigger points will be recruited and divided into two groups Group A will receive dry needling with stretching while Group B will receive cupping therapy with stretching for a duration of two weeks

Outcome measures will include pain intensity assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and functional ability measured using the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) Pre- and post-intervention assessments will be conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions The findings of this study will help determine the comparative effectiveness of dry needling and cupping therapy in reducing pain and improving functional ability in individuals with gastrocnemius trigger points
