Control group |
The control group will continue with their usual practice. However, they will be provided with an awareness session along with the printed educational materials after the completion of data collection |
| Intervention |
Health Educational intervention |
The intervention group (two groups of 35 participants each) will receive a structure educational
intervention programme. A total of three sessions, each lasting about 60-90 minutes, will be provided over
the course of one week. A place convenient to the participants, such as a community hall, will be chosen
as the venue. Teaching learning methods employed will be interactive lectures with PowerPoint presentation, recorded demonstrations, and group activities. Printed materials summarizing the tips will
also be provided. Participants phone number will be collected for sending SMS and phone number will be deleted 3 years after the completion of the study. The participants will also receive SMS/Whatsapp reminders and motivational messages fortnightly till 16 weeks after the intervention. A structured questionnaire will be administered by face-to-face interviews. Same questionnaire will be used and
data will be collected at T0 (baseline), T1 (4 weeks after intervention) and T2 (16 weeks after intervention)

Brief Summary
|
Climate change is one of the defining challenges of
the 21st century and human activities have been the main driver
of climate change. Evidence shows that households account for over 60% of
global greenhouse gas emissions.
Government of India launched Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) in
2022 to encourage individuals and communities to adopt simple, eco-friendly
behaviours such as energy conservation, water efficiency, waste reduction, and
sustainable food practices. This quasi-experimental
study aims to assess the effectiveness of an educational programme in improving
knowledge and enhancing readiness to practice Sustainable Lifestyle Behaviours.
The intervention includes three sessions over the course of one week. Teaching
learning methods employed will be interactive lectures with PowerPoint
presentation, recorded demonstrations, and group activities. Printed materials
summarizing the tips will also be provided. Assessments will be conducted at
baseline, four weeks, and sixteen weeks after the intervention. Data analysis
will be done by repeated
measures ANOVA will be used for within-group pre-post comparisons and
independent t-test for between- groups comparisons of the knowledge and
readiness to practice scores. Ethical approval will be obtained from the
Research Ethics Board, RIMS. This study addresses a key gap in the empirical evidence on the effectiveness of structured,
LiFE-aligned educational interventions.
