| Intervention |
Cognitive rehabilitation |
The intervention program consists of structured cognitive exercises and mindful meditation practices conducted over six weeks. Cognitive training includes visuospatial/executive, naming, memory, attention, language, abstraction, and orientation exercises. Participants will perform three cognitive exercises per day, each lasting 10 minutes, three days per week, totaling six sessions over two weeks. This is followed by mindful meditation practices such as breath awareness, body scan, mountain meditation, observing thoughts, loving-kindness meditation, and integrating mindfulness into daily life. Similarly, participants will engage in three meditation sessions per day, each lasting 10 minutes, three days per week, totaling six sessions over two weeks. The program will be continued for up to six weeks to reinforce and sustain cognitive and functional improvements.

Brief Summary
|
Mild Cognitive Impairment
(MCI) in neurological patients is a growing public health concern, particularly
in developing countries like India, where aging populations and increasing
incidences of stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurodegenerative diseases
contribute to the cognitive burden. non-pharmacological interventions such as
cognitive rehabilitation have shown promising outcomes in improving cognitive
and functional status. Cognitive Exercises
combined with Mindfulness Meditation presents a holistic and evidence-based
approach that addresses not only the cognitive but also the emotional and
physiological challenges faced by individuals with MCI.
The proposed study, therefore, is justified in its aim
to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive rehabilitation on cognitive function,
activities of living, social functioning, and selected physiological parameters
among neurological patients diagnosed with MCI |
