Brief Summary

Leadership is an essential competency for health science professionals, contributing to effective teamwork, decision-making, communication, and improved healthcare delivery. However, structured leadership training for postgraduate health science students is limited in many educational programs in India. Therefore, this study aims to develop and evaluate a structured leadership development module to enhance leadership skills among postgraduate health science students.

This study will be conducted in three phases. Initially, leadership dynamics among academic leaders will be explored through document analysis and in-depth interviews to identify key leadership qualities and challenges in health science education. Based on these findings, a structured leadership development module will be designed and implemented as a 6-week face-to-face program using interactive teaching strategies. The effectiveness of the module will be evaluated using a quasi-experimental single-arm study with assessments conducted at baseline, immediately after the intervention, and at 6-month follow-up.

The study is expected to demonstrate improvement in leadership skills and provide a structured approach for integrating leadership training into postgraduate health science education.
