Brief Summary
|
Association Of Physical Activity Level And Cardiopulmonary Health Among Gym Going Adults is a cross sectional observational study. The primary aim of the study is to evaluate the relationship between physical activity level and cardiopulmonary health among gym going adults. The specific objectives are to determine the correlation of physical activity level with functional capacity measured by VO2 max, and to examine its correlation with cardiopulmonary measures such as blood pressure respiratory rate and lung function including forced vital capacity and forced expiratory volume in one second. Physical activity level will be classified using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form. A total sample of 180 gym going adults will be recruited according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Individuals with recent musculoskeletal injury uncontrolled hypertension current smoking pregnancy or pre existing cardiovascular or respiratory disorders will be excluded. After obtaining informed consent demographic data will be collected followed by assessment of physical activity level VO2 max using Queens College Step Test spirometry blood pressure and respiratory rate. Data will be analysed using appropriate statistical tests to determine the association between physical activity level and cardiopulmonary outcomes. The findings of this study are expected to help physiotherapists design more individualized and evidence based exercise programs for gym going adults. |
