Details  1. Participant should be willing to participate.
2. Male and female competitive karate athletes aged 15- 35years specializing in the kata discipline.
3. Minimum of 2 years of continuous kata training and competition.
4. Active participation in at least two kata competitions.
5. Ability to perform a complete standardized kata sequence appropriate to their training level.
 
 
ExclusionCriteria 
Details  1. Athletes currently suffering from any acute or chronic musculoskeletal injury in the past 6 months.
2. History of neurological, vestibular, or balance disorders that could affect postural control or movement performance in the past 6 months.
3. Presence of any cardiovascular or respiratory condition contraindicating moderate to vigorous physical activity.
4. Visual or auditory impairments not correctable to normal limits.

Brief Summary  

This observational analytical study aims to determine the association between core muscle endurance and dual-task performance among elite karate kata athletes aged 15–35 years. Kata performance requires optimal trunk stability and the ability to maintain movement precision under cognitive and sensory distractions. However, the relationship between baseline core endurance and susceptibility to dual-task interference remains unclear.

A total of 108 eligible competitive karate kata athletes will be recruited from academies and clubs in Belagavi, Karnataka. Core muscle endurance will be assessed using the McGill Trunk Endurance Tests (Forearm Plank, Side Plank, and Modified Biering–Sørensen Test). Dual-task performance will be evaluated using auditory recall and visual Stroop tasks performed during kata execution, and dual-task cost (%) will be calculated.

The findings of this study will help understand whether better core endurance is associated with reduced cognitive-motor interference, thereby informing performance optimization and injury prevention strategies in karate kata athletes.
