Individualized Homoeopathic Medicine |
Patients qualifying to inclusion criteria will be includes in the study. Proper case taking of all enrolled patients will be done. Homoeopathic medicine will be prescribed to all patients after miasmatic analysis and evaluation of symptoms and proper repertorization. Indicated Homoeopathic remedy will be administered as decided appropriate to case or condition in appropriate potency and doses.Medicines will be given through oral route.Each case will be followed up at regular interval preferably at a period of 15 days or as per requirement. Patient will be studied for 6 months after enrollment.Outcome Assessment of patient will be carried out after 6 months of Homoeopathic medication based on SALT score. |

1.Symptomatic cases of Alopecia areata.
2.Both the sexes will be considered.
3.Those who agree to give consent to participate in the study.
4.Those who are willing to have regular follow up visits. |

| Details |
1. Alopecia due to scarring, burns , trauma, chemotherapy or radiation.
2. Patients with infectious causes of hair loss (e.g, tinea capitis or other
fungal infections of the scalp).
3. Patients with systemic autoimmune disorder requiring life – saving
treatment.
4. Patients with serious co-morbidity such as serious systemic diseases
Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, thyroid disorders ,malignancy,psychiatric
illness.
5. History of narcotics abuse or drugs or alcohol abuse.
6. Patients currently on corticosteroids or immunosuppressive therapy.
7. Pregnant or lactating women.
8. Patient who are not regular in follow up. |

Brief Summary
|
Alopecia areata is a non scarring disorder characterized by patchy hair loss with variable severity and course. Homeopathy considers alopecia areata as an expression of underlying constitutional and miasmatic imbalance. This clinical study aims to evaluate the utility of individualized homoeopathic medicines in patients with alopecia areata. Miasmatic analysis will be done based on detailed case taking and symptom evaluation. The Severity of Alopecia Tool score will be used to assess the extent of scalp involvement and to document treatment outcome. Patients will be treated according to homoeopathic principles and the response will be assessed based on hair regrowth and reduction in SALT score. |
