Brief Summary
Digital eye-strain is a collection of eye and vision issues that develop from prolonged use of digital screens. It involves eye-related symptoms like blurred vision, dry eyes , headaches and eye discomfort. Prolonged screen time causes strain to eye muscles which leads to eye pain and heavy eyelids. Dental students uses the devices such as smartphones, laptop, and smart board during lectures, social media and much more. This can cause ocular problems and eye related diseases which is known as CVS that is computer vision syndrome.. Our study is based on CVS Q which includes demographic details and screen -use habits of dental students in uttarakhand. We will assess the prevalence and severity of ocular problems with screen time.

Null Hypothesis

There is no significant association between daily screen time and ocular problems digital eye strain/Computer Vision Syndrome symptoms among dental students.

Objectives

1.     To determine the average daily screen time among dental students, including academic and recreational use of digital devices.

2.     To assess the prevalence and severity of ocular symptoms such as eye strain, dryness, blurred vision, burning, and headaches related to screen use using the Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire CVS Q.

3.     To identify behavioral and environmental risk factors contributing to ocular problems, such as posture, screen distance, lighting conditions, and duration of continuous screen use without breaks.

4.     To evaluate the association between screen time and ocular symptoms in terms of frequency, intensity, and severity.
