Brief Summary

Domestic violence is a major public health and human rights issue that significantly affects the physical and mental health of individuals, particularly women. Nurses play a crucial role in the identification, prevention, and management of domestic violence; however, inadequate knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs among nursing students may limit effective intervention. This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program on knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs regarding domestic violence among undergraduate nursing students in selected nursing colleges of Ranchi.

Undergraduate nursing students who meet the inclusion criteria will be randomly allocated into intervention and control groups. The intervention group will receive a structured educational program on domestic violence, while the control group will receive routine curriculum teaching. Knowledge, attitude, and belief levels will be assessed using a structured knowledge questionnaire, a self-developed attitude scale, and a standardized belief assessment tool at baseline and after completion of the intervention. The primary outcome of the study is the change in knowledge score regarding domestic violence from baseline to post-intervention. Secondary outcomes include changes in attitude and belief scores. The findings of this study are expected to provide evidence on the effectiveness of educational interventions in improving preparedness of nursing students to address domestic violence in clinical practice.
