Brief Summary

Youth are found to be more stressed because of academics, interpersonal relationships, finances, careers etc. Self-affirmation is proven at physical and psychological level through happiness, optimism and quality of life, but no research evaluated the effect on memory. The current study will aim to investigate the effect of self-affirmation on memory among youth. Sixty participants aged 15-24 years from Saket Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, would be recruited and randomly assigned to study and control group. The study group will be asked to perform self-affirmation task 5-7 minutes per session, 3 sessions a day, for 3 weeks and control group will continue as usual with their routine works. All participants will be assessed using Auditory Verbal Learning Test (AVLT) and N-Back test at baseline and after 3 weeks of intervention.
