Structured health education |
This study was conducted among women aged 18 to 70 years residing in rural areas of Belagavi to assess the impact of structured health education on cancer awareness. Using stratified random sampling, 178 participants were selected and divided into two equal groups: an experimental group 89 and a control group 89. Participants were recruited based on inclusion and exclusion criteria ensuring only eligible women were enrolled. The intervention group received a structured health education session on cervical breast and oral cancer while the control group did not receive any intervention during the study period. After two months a post test was carried out for both groups using the same questionnaire to measure changes in knowledge and attitude. Finally the collected data was analyzed and reported to determine the effectiveness of the health education program. |

Cervical breast and oral cancers are among the most common and preventable cancers affecting women, especially in rural india lack of awareness misconceptions and poor access to screening services lead to delayed diagnosis and higher mortality among rural women self help groups provide an effective platform to reach and educate women at the community level This study is needed to evaluate whether structured health education can improve knowledge and attitude regarding these cancers among rural women By promoting early detection preventive practices and positive health seeking behavior the study can help reduce cancer related morbidity and mortality and support the development of effective low cost community based cancer awareness programs Additionally the findings of this study will provide evidence to guide public health interventions and policy decisions aimed at strengthening cancer awareness programs in rural settings By empowering women with accurate information and fostering supportive attitudes the study can contribute to sustainable behavior change and improved utilization of existing screening and prevention services |
