Brief Summary
|
This prospective observational study aims to determine the anterior nares-to-carina distance, anterior nares-to-vocal cord distance, and vocal cord-to-carina distance in adult Indian patients undergoing diagnostic flexible bronchoscopy. Establishing these airway measurements may help improve accuracy in airway instrumentation and endotracheal tube placement in clinical practice.
In addition, the study seeks to evaluate the correlation between anterior nares-to-carina distance and external anatomical measurements including sternal angle-to-mentum distance (in neutral and extended positions), sternal angle-to-anterior nares distance (in neutral position), sternomental distance (in neutral and extended positions), neck length, and patient height.
Data will be collected during routine diagnostic flexible bronchoscopy after obtaining Institutional Ethics Committee approval. The findings may help develop predictive models for estimating airway length in adult Indian patients. |
