Brief Summary
|
Introduction Cricket demands high endurance for batting, bowling, and fielding. Endurance is vital to maintain performance, recover faster, and avoid fatigue or injuries. Tabata (a form of high-intensity interval training) and circuit training are both widely used methods to improve endurance, but their comparative effects in cricket are under-researched. Need of Study Endurance is a critical component for cricket players, influencing performance, stamina, and recovery. Despite evidence on Tabata and circuit training individually, little research compares them directly in cricket. Objectives 1. To assess the effects of Tabata training on endurance. 2. To assess the effects of circuit training on endurance. 3. To compare the effectiveness of Tabata training versus circuit training. Methodology - Design: Interventional, randomized study.
- Participants: Male club-level cricket players (18–25 years, with at least 2 years of experience).
- Exclusions: Musculoskeletal/neurological injuries, ongoing rehab, or other training programs.
- Sample size:48
- Randomization: Chit system.
- Duration: 6 weeks
- Intervention:
- Group A: Tabata training.
- Group B: Circuit training.
- Outcome measure: Yo-Yo Endurance Test (pre- and post-intervention).
Ethics & Consent Study approved by IEC, informed consent will be obtained. Patient Information Sheets and consent forms are included in English, Hindi, and Marathi. Confidentiality and voluntary participation assured. Compensation policies in case of research-related injury are outlined. Statistical Analysis To be calculated post data collection. |
