Brief Summary
|
Hypertension is a major public health concern linked to autonomic dysfunction characterized by increased sympathetic and reduced parasympathetic activity Yoga practices have shown beneficial effects on cardiovascular and autonomic regulation However traditional Suryanamaskara may not be feasible for hypertensive individuals with mobility limitations Chair Suryanamaskara a modified and accessible form can be a suitable alternative This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effect of Chair Suryanamaskara on autonomic variables among hypertensive individuals Participants will be randomized into intervention and control groups The intervention group will practice Chair Suryanamaskara for 30 minutes 5 days per week for 8 weeks while the control group will receive standard lifestyle advice Autonomic variables such as heart rate variability resting heart rate systolic and diastolic blood pressure and respiratory rate will be assessed at baseline and post-intervention The study is expected to provide evidence on the role of Chair Suryanamaskara as a safe feasible and cost-effective complementary therapy for hypertension management |
