Brief Summary
|
Breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival. Lactating women frequently experience thoracic spine pain due to prolonged poor posture during breastfeeding. These postural stress lead to muscular strain particularly in upper back. Duration of breastfeeding ranges from 15–20 minutes and is done after every 2–3 hours. Breastfeeding approximately 8–12 times a day, so collectively it is for a longer time in the entire day, all spent. During this time mothers adopt improper postures. Intervention such as deep tissue massage, mobility exercise and postnatal exercises have shown promising results in alleviating musculoskeletal pain and improve in alignment and posture.Breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival.
