Primary Outcome
Outcome  TimePoints
To explore the key factors that resecting and reconstructive surgeons consider when
deciding on the type of reconstruction following oral tongue cancer resection.
- One-on-one, semi-structured interviews will be conducted, lasting 30–45 minutes

- Interviews may be conducted in person or via secure video conferencing platforms.
- Interviews will be audio recorded (with consent), transcribed verbatim, and
anonymized.

Secondary Outcome
Outcome  TimePoints
- To compare the decision-making perspectives between resecting and reconstructive surgeons.
- To identify perceived barriers and facilitators to collaborative reconstructive planning.

Brief Summary   This qualitative study aims to understand how surgeons decide on reconstruction methods after oral tongue cancer surgery. It will explore the perspectives of both resecting and reconstructive surgeons, focusing on factors such as tumor size and location, patient health, hospital resources, and surgical roles. About 20 experienced surgeons from various hospitals across India will be interviewed. The study will also examine how team dynamics, communication, and training influence decision-making. Interview data will be systematically analyzed to identify key themes and challenges in collaborative surgical planning.
