Brief Summary
|
Indoor Air Pollution is the air quality contamination within and around buildings and structures. All healthcare providers should be aware of indoor air pollution and its health effects. The hypothesis of the study is that educational programs improve awareness of indoor air pollution among allied health students. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs in enhancing awareness of indoor air pollution among students in allied health sciences. Scientific Review Board and Institutional Ethics Committee approval will be obtained before the commencement of the study. Informed consent will be obtained by the Principal Investigator from the study participants in a language that the participants fully understand. A Participant Information Sheet will be provided, detailing the study’s purpose and procedures. The informed consent will be taken from the Yenepoya School of Allied Health Science college classroom. Data will be collected using the Indoor Air Pollution Questionnaire. Initial Awareness and knowledge will be assessedusing this questionnaire before the educational program (Interactive audio-visual presentation), which will be provided right before the educational program. The educational program will be conducted, and a post-assessment will be done after the educational program using the same questionnaire, which will be distributed right after the educational program. The questionnaire will consist of 20 questions, with ten questions designed to assess awareness and the other ten to assess knowledge. The duration to fill out both questionnaires will be 20 minutes each. The total time duration required to complete the questionnaire and to conduct the educational session ranges between 50 minutes to one hour.
