Lumbopelvic stabilization Training with neck Convention |
The intervention is delivered in three progressive phases:
Local Segmental Control:
Activation of deep stabilizing muscles — transversus abdominis and lumbar multifidus — to establish basic segmental stability in a controlled, low-load environment.
Closed Chain Segmental Control:
Incorporation of weight-bearing activities such as semi-squats and trunk forward lean with resistance band, integrating stability in functional postures.
Open Chain Segmental Control:
Advanced exercises combining trunk control with limb movement (e.g., leg slides with heel support variations), promoting dynamic stability and coordination.
Each exercise is performed for 6–10 seconds hold, 10 repetitions, 3 sets, with 1-minute rest between sets. |

It consist of Hot Pack on neck region for 10 - 15 minutes followed by Neck isometrics.
Neck flexion isometrics,
Neck Extension Isometrics,
Neck side flexion isometrics both sides.

A structured 4-week program (3 sessions per week), each session lasting approximately 40 minutes (5-minute warm-up, 30-minute exercise, 5-minute cool-down). Exercises are progressively advanced from basic to complex movements to enhance control and stability. |

Brief Summary
|
Not yet started, A total of 51 participants with Chronic Non-Specific Neck Pain will be recruited using convenience sampling from the outpatient physiotherapy department of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (Divyangjan). Eligible participants will be randomly allocated into three groups using block randomization. Chronic Non-Specific Neck Pain (CNNP) is a common musculoskeletal condition that significantly affects daily functioning, posture, and quality of life. Muscle imbalance, poor posture, and altered neuromuscular control involving the cervical, scapular, and core muscles are key contributors to this condition. Conventional physiotherapy often focuses on symptomatic relief, but targeted stabilization exercises may provide better functional outcomes. This randomized controlled trial aims to compare the effectiveness of lumbopelvic (core) stabilization training and scapular stabilization training, when combined with conventional neck exercises, on pain and functional outcomes in individuals with CNNP. A total of 51 participants aged 20–40 years will be randomly assigned into three groups:

Group A: Lumbopelvic stabilization + neck conventional exercises

Group B: Scapular stabilization + neck conventional exercises

Group C: Neck conventional exercises only
The intervention will be conducted over four weeks (three sessions per week). Outcome measures will include Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Neck Disability Index (NDI), deep neck flexor and extensor endurance tests, scapular index, and transverse abdominis activation using pressure biofeedback.
The study is expected to provide evidence on whether core or scapular stabilization offers superior benefits in reducing pain, improving muscle endurance, posture, and functional ability. The findings may help physiotherapists design more targeted, evidence-based rehabilitation programs for individuals with chronic non-specific neck pain. |
