Details |
| Intervention |
4 7 8 breathing exercises |
4 7 8 breathing technique
inhale through nose for 4 second and hold breath for 7 seconds then exhale slowly through pursed lips for 8 seconds
repeat this cycle for 4 to 8 times
purpose to promotes relaxation reduce stress improve sleep quality
benefites are maintain heart rate reduces sympathetic drive control breathing pattern helpful in hyperventilation and insomnia |
| Comparator Agent |
pre and post respiratory rate blood pressure oxygen saturation and heart rate recovery in 1 min 3 min and 5 min |
submaximal test will increase all the parameters so comparing these parameters pre and post recovery will provide data reagarding effectivness of 4 7 8 breathing technique |

Brief Summary
|
Objective To evaluate the immediate effect of the 4 7 8 breathing technique on cardiorespiratory function following submaximal exercise in healthy young adults aged 18 to 25 years Inclusion Criteria Healthy males and females aged 18 to 25 years who voluntarily agree to participate and provide informed consent Exclusion Criteria Individuals with diagnosed cardiovascular respiratory or neuromuscular disorders those on medications affecting cardiorespiratory function participants with musculoskeletal limitations restricting exercise performance and pregnant or breastfeeding individuals Outcome Measures Heart rate recovery blood pressure respiratory rate oxygen saturation and rate of perceived exertion Procedure Participants will perform a modified Harvard Step Test as a submaximal exercise protocol followed by either passive recovery or a supervised 4 7 8 breathing intervention for 5 minutes After a two-day washout period participants will cross over to the alternate intervention and cardiorespiratory parameters will be measured before and after each intervention |
