Details |
| Intervention |
high intensity interval training |
Participants in the HIIT group will undergo a 6-week high-intensity interval training program with three sessions per week. The protocol includes progressive circuit-based exercises focusing on explosive upper and lower limb power, core strength, and karate-specific punching and kicking techniques. Training intensity will be high with 2–5 sets per session, and work-to-rest ratios progressing from 1:1 to 1:3 (10–25 seconds each). A 5-minute recovery period will be provided between rounds, and exercise difficulty will increase every two weeks through more advanced plyometric, resistance band, and medicine-ball drills. |
| Comparator Agent |
S.A.Q SPEED AGILITY AND QUIKNESS TRAINING |
Participants in the SAQ group will participate in a 6-week speed, agility, and quickness training program, performed three times per week. The training includes ladder drills, cone drills, hurdle jumps, rapid directional changes, and karate-specific punching and kicking footwork patterns. Each session consists of high-intensity bouts focusing on rapid acceleration, deceleration, and multidirectional movement skills. Training volume and complexity will progressively increase every two weeks to enhance neuromuscular coordination, agility, and reaction speed essential for karate performance. |

Brief Summary
|
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) program and a Speed-Agility-Quickness (SAQ) training program in improving power, flexibility, and endurance among karate players. Eligible participants will be randomly allocated into two intervention groups: HIIT and SAQ. Both groups will undergo supervised training sessions for 6 weeks Outcome measures including power (vertical jump test and medicine ball throw test), flexibility (sit and reach test), and endurance (beep test) will be assessed at baseline and after completion of the intervention. The findings of this study may help identify the more effective training method for enhancing physical performance components essential for karate athletes |
